Forno d’Asolo has chosen to elevate its iconic product, Re B. the King of Goodness turning it into a multi-sensory experience. The idea came from Chiara Perin, Brand & Product Manager, who collaborated with scent designer Antonella Bondi to develop five fragrances inspired by Re B.’s key ingredients: dough, citrus, caramelized sugar crystals, and its distinctive essence.

The result is an edible, natural fragrance, to be sprayed onto the product (1–5 sprays per 100 g), enhancing flavor and adding an emotional dimension to the tasting experience.
A project that combines technical expertise with creative sensitivity, evoking balance, empathy, and joy.

How a multi-sensory idea was born

A vision that starts with aroma

Q: How did the idea of turning an iconic product like Re B. into a fragrance come about?
C.P.: It all started with the scent of Re B. itself: the moment you enter the company, you immediately notice its unmistakable aroma. From there came the idea to collaborate with experts who already work with olfactory experiences in haute cuisine. It’s a first in the bakery world, giving identity to an unbranded product and awakening everyday memories of genuine goodness.

C.P.: The notes are:

Q: Bondi has been transforming ingredients into olfactory emotions for almost a hundred years. How do you turn dough into a scent that evokes memory and taste?
A.B.: Our story began in 1926 with my grandmother Dina. At Bondi 1926, we develop custom olfactory designs: transforming flavors into edible fragrances that tell the soul of a recipe. Recognizing and recreating each ingredient requires skill and deep respect for pastry art. It’s a heritage we have preserved for nearly a century.

Beyond taste: an olfactory signature

Q: How will this fragrance change the way people experience Re B.?
C.P.: I want people to rediscover the essence of the Italian cornetto: traditional natural leaven, citrus, and sugar crystals that make it unique. The fragrance extends the perception of flavor for over thirty minutes on a room-temperature product, making it fuller and more harmonious. It can even become a true olfactory signature for a space.
