The author, Prof. Gianni Moriani, of the Venice International University, presented and discussed with Fabio Gallina - Managing Director of Forno D'Asolo-, Rosella Mamoli Zorzi of the University of Venice, Pia Padoan - historian of Venetian Cuisine - and Danilo Gasparini of the University of Padua, his latest book that tells about the history of the most beloved Italian breakfast. The book, published by Terra Firma, tells about the doctor in Marostica, Prospero Alpini, who played a key role in introducing coffee to Europe, and the friar Marco d'Aviano, who invented the cappuccino, and the birth of Cornetto in Vienna. |
